Old Vinyls Are Making a Comeback

They’re coming back! My uncle’s family used to own a vintage turntable and quite a collection of vinyl records back in the days. From Beatles to Frank Sinatra to Carpenters, there’s just a lot! My cousins and I would would put vinyl record on the turntable and spin the platter using our hands and it would play music! Amazing! Now I wonder where those vinyl records are. Couldn’t find them anywhere in my uncle’s house, perhaps they were sold to antique shops or worse, thrown out! It would have been nice to have them as a collection. With the technology nowadays, you can play old vinyls using project debut carbon, you can also easily record them into a computer!

Wishlist for 2017

Taking videos is the best way of keeping memories alive.

I love taking videos whenever I have a chance. To date, I have over 700 videos uploaded on my Youtube channel. They’re not professionally produced, okay. Most of them are random videos of my family – dancing, eating and singing together! I wonder how those famous youtube stars can create awesome videos? Maybe a high quality camera, pro audio video software like avid mbox, a MAC computer and talent? This 2017, I hope I can create better videos. Not planning to be professional but it’s frustrating looking at my videos with very low quality, shaky and with incorrect orientation. I guess I need an iPhone next year. Ciao!

You Have To Do The Best With What God Gave You

My favorite Forrest Gump soundtrack cover using acoustic guitar, mandola and rogue mandolin

You have to do the best with what God gave you.

Absolutely my favorite line from the Forrest Gump movie! I am a strong believer in the concept of destiny. I am where I am today because God destined me to be here. He allowed me to experience failures so that I may fully grasp what it means to succeed. All I have to do is to keep believing that my life is bound for greater things and be a better person day after day. I don’t care how long it would take and how many more failures and heartaches and rejections I would face. I just know that I can overcome all of it.

Wednesday Wisdom # 1

Work like you don’t need the money. Love like you’ve never been hurt. Dance like nobody’s watching. – Satchel Paige

I changed a lot eversince my father went to heaven. I could say that for the most part, the changes are doing me good. It used to be money before anything else and ME-FIRST before anyone else. But gone are the days when I used to live and breathe money. Gone are the days when I build walls so nobody can just come into my life and hurt me. I was always very defensive and sarcastic (well I still am sarcastic, it’s inborn haha). And I was always so shy it limits me from doing crazy things. Look where it got me…nowhere.

I am surprised because the paycheck I am getting now is sooooo much lesser from what I was getting before, but I am okay with it because I have a very fulfilling job! I am allowed to do what I want to do like enroll in a Culinary School, take Masters degree and go home in my barrio once in a while for as long as they don’t interfere with my everyday tasks. I have the best boss and the best team!

My heart is okay as well. I still have fears but I finally understand what courage means. I am inspired – to live and move by no other rule than the law of love.

UPDATE

Hayy! Sayang! Nahuli ng submission hahaha, para kay Pepe and Pilar in Pasig sana to eh.

Tuesday Thoughts # 1

Politics:
Supporting our President no matter what! Reliance on Foreign Aids leave us with a beggar’s mentality. I am not saying Foreign Aid is a bad thing, it never is and never will be, and I truly appreciate the countries who have helped us during tragedies but I hope Filipinos begin to realize that we are more than just a recipient of aid.

Let’s all change the way we see ourselves. Let’s all take pride in being Filipinos!

Work:
Choose a job you love and you will never have to work a day in your life. Relate na relate ako dito. I thank all the powers in this Universe who conspired to make it possible for me to experience fulfillment in my career. I don’t have much but I have everything!

Life:
Whatever is hurtful to you, do not do to any other person. Planggana!

I hope you are happy and well wherever you are.

Wag Ka Nang Umiyak

Currently my favorite song to date because, I don’t know. I thought it’s a very very sad song, sadly, it isn’t. HAHAHA. Yes, I oftentimes find myself basking in sadness. I don’t know, a lot has changed with the way how I see life now that tatay has gone to heaven. I get sad over the simplest of things. But I am definitely stronger. Next week, I promise to be BOLDER!

“Ako ang iyong bangka, kung magalit man
ang alon ng panahon, sabay tayong aahon”

I have moved on a long time ago. I am happier now. Sikapin mong maging masaya. Gawin mo namang worth it yung mga nangyari. While I feel like winning because finally, nagkatotoo yung “it’s not my loss”, I am also partly sad (mga 1%…okay, .05%)…pero hindi dahil sayo. I am just sad because paulit-ulit kong pinapakinggan ‘tong kanta. Back to what I was saying, I absolutely don’t regret anything. Totoo yun talaga. Now that we are talking again, hanggang dyan na lang yan. I am not even flattered.

Whatever is hurtful to you, do not do to any other person.

I never thought getting seenzoned is this…heartbreaking. Ang arte, hahaha! Seriously, I feel UNIMPORTANT and FORGETTABLE and it  hurts because it’s true. Huy! Feelings ko naman ‘to and I have the right to feel this way. But it’s okay.

In-Ear vs Over-Ear Headphones

I never really like those over-ear headphones with thick headbands and huge ear cups. They are too bulky and looks really really heavy. Well, some millenials do find it cool, I don’t! Too hip hop for my style, very inconvenient for me too! And I heard they’re also very expensive?

In-ear headphone will always be the best for me. Fits right into my purse so I can bring it anywhere. I especially like this noise cancelling headphone from Bose quietcomfort 20i. It’s the perfect companion during long trips to my barrio. Unlike some in-ear that can hurt your ears, this one provides maximum comfort! Its eartips provides soft and secure fit, it can stay on your ears comfortably secure for hours.

This in-ear retails at around $249. It’s still less expensive than most branded over-ear headphones!

Compatible Phones for Pokemon Go

Looks like this is a lot of fun! How to play it?

Get on your feet and step outside to find and catch wild Pokémon. Explore cities and towns where you live—and even around the globe—to capture as many Pokémon as you can. As you walk through the real world, your smartphone will vibrate to let you know you’re near a Pokémon. Once you’ve encountered a Pokémon, take aim on your smartphone’s touch screen and throw a Poké Ball to catch it. Be careful when you try to catch it, or it might run away!

Like the (real) fictional Pokémon Trainers, every player’s goal is to collect all of the available Pokémon species which can be found in the real-world locations.  Ang cool! You’re like travelling between real and virtual world. Can’t wait to play it but!!! It is not available yet in my country (The Philippines!) but it’s coming very soon! So be sure your phone is ready when Pokemon Go is rolled out.

Pokemon Go supported devices, compatible phones:

ANDROID

  • Android 4.4 to Android 6.0.1 (Android N will not be supported until the official Android release)
  • Preferred resolution of 720×1280 pixels (Not optimized for tablet)
  • Strong internet connection (Wi-Fi, 3G, or 4G)
  • GPS and Location Services
  • Intel CPUs are not supported. ARM chipset only.

iOS

  • iPhone 5+
  • iOS 8+
  • Strong internet connection (Wi-Fi, 3G, or 4G)
  • GPS and Location Services
  • Jailbroken devices are not supported

I recently switched to a low maintenance handphone and have no plans in upgrading it any time soon. By low maintenance I mean call and text type of phone only with special participation of FM stations lol! PAANO TO? I wanna play this so bad!

It All Makes Sense Now

Now I know why I’m here long before anyone has told me to go through this path. Took me a long time to realize. But hey, it’s not too late yet. I am ready to embrace your plans for me, God. Let’s do this!

I used to say a lot that I WANT TO GET OUT OF MY COMFORT ZONE and it did happen. May power talaga ang words…so I am now being very careful with every words that I say.

Traffic in Metro Manila is unbelievable! My everyday calvary. Grabe! Let’s decongest Metro Manila and start building office hubs in Bulacan, Batangas and Laguna, kahit as far as Bataan pa. Subic is nice!

Very happy that Duterte won! I wrote about him in 2009 when we went to Davao.  He really exudes power and authority.

There’s many things going on in my head right lately…one thing I am sure is that I AM HAPPIER NOW. I lack a lot of things, but then I lack nothing. Ang saya to be able to finally say this: IT ALL MAKES SENSE NOW! Para akong naka-buo ng 100,000 pieces of jigsaw puzzle na abstract!
