Experience Great Adventure with Davao Wild Water Rafting

Do you love thrilling activities that make your adrenaline rush? If you’re an adventurous soul who loves all kinds of adventure, you should try Water Rafting in Davao. I’ve tried it twice already and I love it! There’s also another rafting site in CDO and Tugegarao but I have yet to try them.

Nothing can match the excitement it gives when you paddle hard against the raging rapids. An that up and down roller coaster ride over rocks and boulders, that’s an amazing feeling. Sure bet, you are going to remember it for the rest of your life! It is a lot of fun but it is also scary. It’s an extreme sport that can cause injuries especially when rafting on fast rapids. But don’t worry, Davao Wildwater provides proper safety equipment with an experienced guide who is familiar with the river you are rafting on. Check out their website or call their numbers (+6382) 301-2020, atoy 0920-9546898, poloy 0920-9546897 for more info. Happy paddling!

What A Wonderful World

I really would like to travel the world, but before I do that, I’d like to travel around the exotic beauty of our 7000+ beautiful islands first. Every provinces and islands has its own magic and more often, we fail to see them because we are so engrossed with the idea of getting out of this country. I tell you, Philippines is such a beautiful place and I didn’t realize it, until I joined my outdoors club. I’ve been to the best beaches, went to the best hike, been on top of a mountain, slept in a tent on a rainy night, watched the stars on top of a mountain, fell and tripped on the trail, seen several majestic falls, scuba dived and marvelled at the beauty under the sea and a whole lot more! It is a wonderful world, indeed.

Summer is just a few months away, book with Westgate now, travel around the Philippines and enjoy!

Things I Love About Davao

I am not from Davao, I’ve only been there twice but I would like to live in that city, if I have a chance. Let me tell you the reasons why:

1. CALAMITY FREE. Do you know that Davao is typhoon free? Feeling ko, protektado kase sya ng Mt. Apo, whatchathink? LOL. Pero trulili, it lies outside the typhoon belt kaya hinde binabagyo ang Davao. Nevah.

2. PEACE AND ORDER. This may sound like I’m stereotyping but what comes to your mind when you hear of Mindanao? It’s almost synonynous to Abu Sayyaf and warlalu diba? How ironic, Davao is geographically situated in Mindanao, and yet, it is one of the most peaceful cities in SE Asia. I can attest to that, on our last day in Davao, our cab was hit by another vehicle, akalain mong ang peaceful mag usap nun 2 driver. Kung dito sa Manila yun, nag murahan na ang mga mokong.

3. RESCUE 911. Davao maintains a bonggang bonggang centralized 24-hour emergency and rescue system. Just dial 911 on your cellphone/landline for all your emergency and criminal cheverloo. Here are the services they offer:

> Urban Search and Rescue Services – USAR
> Fire Auxiliary Services – FAS
> Emergency Medical Services – EMS
> K9 Unit
> Police services

Wow! Eh dito sa Manila, kakaloka, in case of emergency, type PNP then send to 2920! In case of fire, call 522-2222 / 527-3627 / 527-3653. For police assistance, call their hotline number 838-3354 / 838-3203 / 8372471 Loc. 439. Anobaaah!!

4. NO SMOKING ORDINANCE. May mga designated areas lang for smoking, you can’t just go around publicly and puff a cigarette. Wow! It takes a lot of discipline and leadership para maipatupad yan. Dito sa Manila, kahit isang barangay lang yata, hinde kayang magpatupad ng ganyang ordinansa.

5. HONEST TAXI DRIVERS. Manila taxi drivers are the worst! They’re either bastos or overpricing. Hate ko talaga ang mga taxi drivers dito. In Davao? Kahit 3piso, susuklian ka. After our rafting adventure, Mitchie left her Canon Digicam inside the cab….2 hours later, binalik ni Manong Baldo yung Digicam. Kung dito sa manila yan, malamang nasa Quiapo na yun.

Si Manong Baldo

6. MAYOR RODRIGO DUTERTE. Good governance = Mayor Rodrigo Duterte. I’ve had several encounters with politicians (as if, lol), pero sa kanya lang ako bumilib ng todo. He’s a no nonsense political leader who is not sleeping on the job. He can be very brutal and yet, his compassion to his fellow Davaoeños is incomparable. Indeed, he’s known to be harsh and strict but Duterte actually has a soft heart to his people. I saw it myself.

Dumating sya at exactly 3PM…

A hands-on Mayor. Almost every day in his office he receives constituents seeking assistance.

he feeds all the people waiting in line. mapa-dinner or merienda.

He gives hope to his people, like this woman, dini-demolish daw yung bahay nila, so mayor called the developer. After few minutes, things were settled, this is what he said, umuwi ka na, hinde kanila ang Davao, akin ang Davao. Ang shoray ni mayor!

His party slate during the past election included a Christian, a Muslim, a gay man and a disabled candidate.

He is funny, sarcastic and amusing. That day, he helped a young man who wanted to be a soldier…eh kulang sya sa height besides, HS grad lang. Kelangan pala ng 72 units para maging sundalo. Mayor suggested na mag CAFGU na lang, but the young man insisted. So Mayor called some general over the phone, baket pa daw kelangan ng 72 units para mamatay lang lol. He must have seen the young man’s heart and got everything settled for him.

Here is a man both loved and loathed. To some, he is a barbaric, but to many, he’s a peacemaker. Don’t f*ck with Mayor or else, he will chastise you and humiliate you publicly, bad mouth you on TV and who knows, you could even end up in the hands of Davao Death Squad (sana lahat ng corrupt officials i-firing squad nila). To some, he’s just a dirty politician, but to me, he’s one of the very very few finest leaders we have. He may have his flaws as a leader, but he is efficient, he’s fearless, and he does the right thing, most of the time.

Hats off to you Mayor.

Tuloy, I’m seriously thinking of buying a house in Davao….charing! Wala naman akong cash LOL but if you want to help me buy my dreamhouse in Davao City, donate to Chuvaness Foundation NOW!!! LOL

All I Want For Christmas Is….

A trip to Hong Kong, with huge shopping money. I am serious. There’s just so many sights to see and shopping to do in HK. Malls, designer stores, restaurants, bars and cafes are all over the district of Hong Kong which makes it popular to tourists. I’d also like to visit temples and museums, go to Oceanpark and Waterworld, ride the cable-pulled train from Hong Kong Park to Victoria Peak. And I am sooo dying to see Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse in real life LOL. If you’re so generous you’d like to finance my HK trip this season, check out this travel deals at sherman travel website. Thank you, promise, I’ll buy you a stuff toy or a key chain. LOL

Planning a Las Vegas Trip

Planning a trip to Vegas to marry your girlfriend? Or to spend money over the many casinos they got there? But there’s a quite a lot of things to do in Las Vegas aside from the things I mentioned. Like touring the majestic Grand Canyon via helicopter, watching the fountains at Bellagio hotel and resort, night out at the las vegas strip, going to an adventure ranch and visiting the Stratosphere Tower – the tallest free-standing observation tower in the U.S.A. It’s the home of the world’s highest rollercoaster! If you’re up for an adventure in a lifetime, aside from the rollercoaster ride, try out the the Big Shot, a reverse bungee jump which will shoot you 160 feet into the air at 45 m.p.h. and then send you zooming back down.Whoa! Love it.

An Invitation To Visit Spain

Do you think Filipino-Spanish is the best mix ever created in the world? I do. Think of Marian Rivera, Kring kring Gonzales, Lucy Torres, Kristine Hermosa, Cheska Garcia etc. These beautiful Filipina mestizas got an extremely angelic face with tantalizing eyes. They’re really beautiful and they get more beautiful when you see them smile. Don’t you agree? Back in HS, I had a classmate who is half Spanish and tell you what, she’s like an angel from heaven. Geesh, do I sound like a lesbo? LOL! Believe me, I’m not. I just know how to appreciate a beautiful face as much as I know how to appreciate a handsome face and I’m not ashamed of it. If I think you look great, regardless if you’re a man or woman, my subordinate or my colleagues, my online or offline friends, I wont deprive you of my admiration and I mean it from the bottom of my heart.

Ok back to what I was saying, I’m fond of calling my beautiful friend as Tisay, born of a Spanish father and Filipina mother. We’ve had so much fun back in HS. I envy her nose, thin pink lips, expressive eyes and golden brown hair. She really is a headturner, I bet, if she entered show business, she’ll make it really big time. Here in our country, if you’re a “mestizo” or “mestiza”, almost automatically, you are categorized as a mixed Spaniard and Filipino but do you know that the term mestizo/mestiza is actually defined as individuals who are descendants of Chinese and Filipino? Wow! That means I am a mestiza too. HAHAHAH

Tisay now lives in Spain with her family. She recently sent me an email asking me to visit them one of these days. I’d love to! I heard Spain is realy nice. She said I shouldn’t worry about accommodation since I could stay in their house plus there are plenty of cheap hotels around the country. We could also stay in one of the many Madrid hotels available and then watch bullfights and attend all night fiestas. That sounds really exciting but I am still busy with work here in the office plus the airfare and overall expense will make me feel poor instantly. LOL. That trip could wait. For now, if plans will push through, might be going to HK or Malaysia-Singapore.

Life’s A Beach

I’m definitely a beach person. My idea of a great vacation experience is to go to a secluded resort, with a nice villa overlooking the vast ocean with my special someone. Awwww! Hahaha. When I grow old, I’d love to spend the rest of my remaining years in a nice house by the shore. No kidding.

How about yours? What’s your idea of a grand vacation experience? If you also prefer beach getaways, you should try the Outer Banks. They are a major tourist destination and are known for their temperate climate and wide expanse of open beachfront. For the best Outer Banks rentals, give them a call (toll free) at 800-368-3825 or book with them at www.carolinadesigns.com. Enjoy!
