1 Year Since You’ve been Gone

Already 1 year since tatay went to heaven. I miss him everyday!

We’re all okay. Nanay is okay, she cries sometimes but for the most part, she is strong and moving on. Very admirable. You would have been very glad to hear that both your sons are working outside of the country. Ate is okay and very happy with Keith. Inday is following your footsteps! She’s now learning to play the guitar (we bought one for her last Christmas). Julia is super smart, kulit and sings very well, just like you! Sayang, you didn’t get to see Ponsky! He looks just like you, Tatay! You would have been a doting grandfather to him if you were here. I’m okay now, feeling a lot better and slowly accepting everything what happened. I don’t cry as often as I used to now.

I MISS YOU TATAY! I miss you so much, everyday. Please watch over us from heaven! I love you forever!

3 Things I am Grateful For

Do you realize how powerful your thoughts and words are?

2 years ago, I’ve been constantly whining over my life, how it was too boring and routinary and comfortable. I wanted to experience something dramatic to have a more interesting and exciting life. I wanted to get out of my comfort zone and look out for more challenges. I wanted a drama, this Universe conspired and made it happen. 2013-2014 surely is the worst and most uncomfortable and challenging and dramatic year for me. I’ve never felt so down and depressed and lost.

I want you guys to be more careful with your thoughts, wishes and words. Never ever wish for a drama!

Anyway, here are the 3 things I am most grateful for today:

1. Grateful for my fast internet connection. Internet became my escape. It’s so nice that I can watch a lot of youtube tutorials, from make up to cooking to making loom bands to playing Bass guitar! I know nothing about bass guitar, so while browsing online, I saw this video and instantly it caught my interest! Got inspired by this young lady who learned to play bass by just watching youtube videos:

Mad skills right there! She didn’t even know how to read chords, she’s just playing it by ear. So cool. I know i know, it might be too late and ambitious to learn playing bass but who knows. HAHA. If I get enough money and time and right amount of passion, I might buy a Fender bass guitar and learn to play it.

2. Grateful for friends who have shown support in any way they can – from childhood friends, gradeschool/high school/college classmtes, officemates, neighbors, churchmates to blogfriends, I will never ever forget your kindness guys!

3. Grateful for the support of my family and relatives. I feel that I am so much closer now to them than I had been in the past. Thank you and I love you. Even if there’s a lot of pain now, everything would be all right someday.

What are the things you’re most grateful for?

Symptoms of Happiness

When you are truly happy and fulfilled, it will show. Be careful, though, not to confuse the symptoms of happiness with happiness itself.

Happiness shows itself in many ways. Remember, however, that those outward manifestations are not the source of happiness.

The signs of happiness you see in others are the results, not the cause of their happiness. Chasing those same results in an attempt to bring happiness to your own life is an empty pursuit.

Instead, live each day with gratitude, with wonder, awe, love and kindness. Be happy, without first requiring a reason to be.

And the symptoms of happiness will begin to show in you. What’s more, they’ll be real and meaningful, not just empty tokens.

Rather than expecting happiness to come to you from the outside, let it come from you, pouring forth from the inside. And delight in the joy your happiness creates.

Patience

I need lots and lots of patience! Pls. Lord, don’t let me lose my patience. Let me walk into the right path. Teach me to accept things that I have no control over. Amen.

Proverbs 15:18
A hot-tempered man stirs up dissension, but a patient man calms a quarrel. (NIV)

Romans 12:12
Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. (NIV)

1 Corinthians 13:4–8a
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. (NIV)

Colossians 3:12-13
Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others. (NLT)

1 Thessalonians 5:14
And we urge you, brothers, warn those who are idle, encourage the timid, help the weak, be patient with everyone. (NIV)

James 1:19-20
My dear brothers, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, for man’s anger does not bring about the righteous life that God desires. (NIV)

Gift Ideas for My Father

I barely noticed my father growing older. He’s still fit, and still capable to do a lot of things, but the last time I went home for a short visit in the barrio, he’s become thin and lines are clearly visible on both sides of his face.

Thank you God for blessing me a father who’s responsible and works hard at any thing. I am proud to say that he doesn’t smoke and drink alcohol. I haven’t seen him puff a cigar, not one time. And he is really kind and cool. I wish he’ll stay healthy for a long long time.

Other than clothes, I don’t remember giving my father any special gift, so this year, I am planning to spoil him, maybe not with flashy material things since he’s not into that, maybe he’d like gift baskets for dad which includes, shaving cream and razor, some tools etc. Or maybe a pair of Nike rubber shoes since he likes to play basketball. My father’s new hobby is fishing…so maybe a fish rod or fishing lures that he can use will make him really happy. He also loves pizza soo much! I still remember his delighted face when I treated him in Pizza Hut for the first time, he was really happy! So when there’s a chance, I’ll bring home 2 boxes of pizza when I go home.

Soo many gift ideas, but I know what he really really likes to receive from us but I’m not capable to give it yet, maybe in a few years time, so my prayer is for God to bless me in all aspects so I may become a blessing to my parents.

Dreaming of Airplanes in the Nights Sky and Shooting Stars

@Changi

Been dreaming about weird things lately. Mostly about riding a plane, landing/floating on the seawater (instead of a runway), stopover somewhere in Asia and heading to the USA! Last time, I was in Philadelphia, this time I was in Florida! The pilot was just wearing shorts with matching Hawaiian polo shirt , and he is…Steve Tyler! Friggin awesome hahaha!

After arriving in Florida, I went to a dorm-style house and met with some Filipinos (familiar faces, looks like some of them are my ex-officemates). I was too shy to get in so I just stayed at the doorstep, smiling and saying hi to everyone coming in and out LOL. I already forgot the rest…I might have woken up…not usre if I stayed the rest of the night in that dorm or if I went out to look for affordable hotels in orlando Florida.

I swear, I have dreamed about the same thing before…same concept but just different destinations. Could this mean my inner self is wishing to run away, move forward and settle abroad? I guess so. Let’s wait until September! Meantime, I’ll try to enjoy every minute and every second of every day.

2012: Leave My Comfort Zone and Rock My Life

Hello everyone!!! Glad to be back blogging after more than 2 weeks! How’s your 2012 so far?

So my main goal for this year is to leave my comfort zone and rock my life. I have been doing the same things over and over…it feels like I am not growing anymore, just getting older.

I’m also quite busy with work and other stuff like Runningman and Farmville hahaha

Soooo many things running in my head right now. So many things to accomplish:
– Finalize team building preparations
– Reunion planning with elementary classmates
– Get new batteries for my alarm clock and sports watch. I need another watch that I can wear on business days! I want one of those stainless steel watches on sale last month in Cybermall.
– Apply for a VL for Manay Beng’s party in Davao
– ICP
– Gym. Yessss!
– Plan my trip to ………
– Open my online stores
– Manage my closet – sell those clothes that wont fit anymore
– Save enough cash…
– Get serious with blogging, again
– renovate my room! i want a new bed, bedsheets, curtains, lampshade and a rustic bedroom furniture where I can put my DVD collections and books.
– Learn to live simply – I’m going to keep/dispatch those clutter in my apartment

Looks like 2012 will be an exciting year. Lord, thank you for another year of blessings. Teach me your ways…so that I may live according to your will.

Moon Watching

I saw a beautiful and huge full mooon while spending a beautiful night in the terrace, it was shining so bright above the sea and looking very pretty, so I grabbed my camera and took this shot (the only decent shot I made). I can’t even explain how beautiful it is. This picture surely doesn’t give it justice. I don’t know but I just love watching it. There’s something magical about the moon that night. Also, when you look up into the night sky, it seems like you can see a lot of stars (unlike here in Manila). I wonder what it looks when you see it through Nikon binoculars? Next time I come home, I’m bringing a binoculars with me!

Each Day

Act a lot lot nicer,
Laugh a little bit louder,
Cry a lot lesser,
Eat a lot healthier,
Pray a lot harder,
Walk a little faster,
Jump a little bit higher,
Judge a little slower,
Think a lot deeper,
Smile a little brighter,
Hug a little tighter,
Kiss a lot sweeter,
Live a little bit better,

And love a little longer.
