Best Place To Stay Overnight In Tagaytay

I love visiting Tagaytay! Been there a couple of times already and I just don’t get tired of the place. Its cold, fresh air and awesome sceneries are perfect for unwinding. Definitely one of the few pleasant cities in Asia!

If you’re looking for a very cheap/affordable place to stay in Tagaytay, you might consider this:

JESCA Lakeview Bed and Breakfast. It took a while for us to find it because Japox only knew it’s called LAKEVIEW. Apparently, there is another LAKEVIEW Hotel in Tagaytay – yessss, that bonggang luxurious hotel with swimming pool!!! Eh hello, nakasakay lang kaya kami sa tricycle hahaha. We asked the locals and they all pointed us to that same LAKEVIEW HOTEL, until finally, Ate from the nearby fruit stand told us to walk down the street and look for it.

Walking downhill to check the rooms and the garden. So far soooo good. Perfect for those who are travelling in a tight budget. Not the place for honeymooners, ok, but for a cheap yet romantic date, I think this will do. Room rates are very affordable (500P per room, good for 2) and very homey. It’s just like sleeping over at your friend’s parent’s house in the province. Yun nga lang, shared bathroom but they have a heater/towel so it’s ok.

Little pretty flowers here, there and everywhere.

Old country house style. Those are aircon rooms on 2nd floor, with a nice overlooking view of Lake Taal.

Ahh what a wonderful world! Mountains, trees and greens, so so beautiful!

Non-aircon single bedroom (good for 2, 500P). Oh yesss, it has a sandblasted floor and stonewalls!!! I initially thought we were in a garage LOL when we first got in. I guess it’s because this house was built down the ridge overlooking the lake so it has to be durable and cannot rot easily. But a little improvements on the flooring and interior walls would be nice, noh? But it’s ok, beggars can’t be choosers eh.

Trust me, you don’t need airconditioning here. It’s too cold by night. No need for TV too. We stayed outside the whole day and spent the rest of our night enjoying the view, Tanduay Ice and chichas. Besides, I have all the time to watch TV when I get back home. All I need is a comfortable bed, pillow and blanket.

Here’s the room we rented, good for 4-5. There’s a huge bed that can accommodate 3 biggies and a double bed. We’re lucky, Japox’s Lolo owns this place so we were able to get this for a very cheap price – 600/4 so that’s 150P each! Not bad.

Chicha for socials. Sarap ng Hansel Premium!

Too tired already.

Wake up call na japoxxxx!

Good morning sunshine!

What a beautiful morning! Ang lammmmmiggg!!

Nice spot to enjoy a sweet date in the morning.

All happiness depends on a leisurely breakfast!

Wet weather, cold breeze and morning dews! Simple pleasures but how seldom we achieve it.

Lucky Me bulalo and gardenia bread for breakfast, truly, this was one of the best breakfasts of my life!

There’s a kitchen somewhere so you can cook your own food too, if you like.

Lillies on a pot.

Joanne enjoying the rocking chair.

Yummy breakfast by the porch.

What a huge garden! I like! It expands right down the hill.

The best thing about this place is that it’s very accessible. Just a little walk uphill and you’re at Aguinaldo Hi-way already, from there you can wait for the bus that will bring you to Cubao. It’s also near some fruit stands so you can go shopping first before going home.

Ratings? Well, it didn’t even get the 1star standard, but the place is OK, great value for money. If you’re going to stay in Tagaytay overnight, I highly recommend this place because:

It’s cheap, probably the cheapest you can find in Tagaytay.
It’s just a few steps away from Aguinaldo Hi-way – that means it’s very accessible to all places of interest in Tagaytay
It’s just 1 ride to One Destination (where restos/cafes like Cafe Lupe, Carlos Pizza, Henlin, Kitaro, Mile Hi Diner, Pancake House, Starbucks, Teriyaki Boy, Leslie’s and Antonio’s are located)
1 ride to Tagaytay Rotonda (Chowking, ATMs, 7-11 etc.)
2 rides to Picnic Grove, People’s Park, Sheperd’s House
15-30min ride to Taal Splendido/Caleruega/Sonya’s Garden/Bag of Beans
1 ride to Magallanes Square
It’s near the Poveda Prayer House / Lourdes church, if you want to spend some quiet time.
It’s on a ridge overlooking the Taal lake (i didn’t see the volcano)!

Will definitely come back, hinde na lugi. For a complete Tagaytay Itinerary, check out this LINK

actually, initial plan namen ng huby ko for my 30th bday was to go first to Pink Sisters, have lunch at Leslies and then spend the rest of the day in Picnic Grove (try their Zipline etc.). now, we plan to do it a 2D-1N stay in tagaytay. thanks for posting your itinerary nga pala.
may mga questions lang me, like:
    – where did you get the hot water? libre ba yun?
    – may separate bathroom ba yung JESCA per room?

    thanks in advance!

  4. hi lei! welcome!

if you’re asking about the hot water for coffee and the likes, there’s a kitchen at the back, pwede magluto dun or mag-init ng tubig galing sa gripo lol. may heater din in the bathroom.

Yun nga lang shared bathroom sila…3 rooms sa baba sharing 1 bathroom. yun ang concern ko initially but if you’re planning to stay outside most of the time para mamasyal, oks lang ang shared bathroom.

    1. hi again ms. malen,

i’m sorry i forgot to mention that what i’m asking for is hot water for coffee & cup noodles. hehe.. no prob samen ang shared bathroom, what’s important is may matuluyan at maliguan for 1 nyt. so glad to hear na may heater ung bathroom. tnx sa add’l info. hopefully, pareho sanang available ang room sa Jesca at ung na hire nyong van in tagaytay. super thanks ulet. God bless!!!

      1. hi back at you lei!

anyway if di available si mark, punta lang kayo sa olivares terminal, daming mga vans for hire dun…if di naman available yun jesca, there’s another transient hoouse beside it. have fun in there!

    1. Hi Clifford,

    1. hi che! actually accdng kay ate rose, ok naman daw yun landline nila but when we tried calling from manila – out of reach din. di ko alam kung anong klaseng line problem yun but we couldn’t connect. kahit nun nasa tagaytay kami, di din namin makontak…

As per Lei, na-kontak nya si Ms. Rose at 0908-9204938 last Sept05. Try mo ulit tawagan/text.

I’ll also try to ask Japox if he has other means of contacting JESCA. thanks!

  8. hi malensky,
were planning to have team bldg in tagaytay.ang gnda nung resthouse tpos affordable pa sya.ilan ba lahat ng rooms?kc 18 kami lhat.tnx

    1. hi joanne! yes, this is a nice team building place, not sure lang kung kasya ang 18

as far as i can remember, sa baba 3 rooms lang:
      2 rooms – good for 2
      1 room – good for 3-4

sa taas naman – 2 more rooms good for 2-3 siguro

pwede siguro mag extra bed kaso sandblasted yun flooring nya sa baba. kung pipilitin siguro pwede naman 🙂 but don’t take my word for it, try contacting ms. rose muna

      have fun in tagaytay!

  9. hi!

    thanks 🙂

    1. hi pau!

kung mag bu-bus kayo to Tagaytay (San Agustin bus bound to Nasugbu), ask the driver to drop you at LOURDES CHURCH along Aguinaldo Hi-way (malapit lang sya sa Tagaytay rotonda). Pag baba nyo tawid kayo sa kabila nun hi-way…look for Poveda House – may street pababa dun, lakad lang kayo…medyo sa gitnang part andun yun JESCA

Kung manggagaling kayo sa Tagaytay Rotonda, sakay kayo ng tricycle papuntang Lourdes Church (malapit lang yan) -> then tawid sa kabila look for POVEDA HOUSE -> lakad kayo dun sa street na pababa -> JESCA

i think yes, kung walang tao, they can accomodate you kahit gabi na pero i suggest you text ms.rose para sure. dala kayo ng flashlight kase madilim yun street na yun pababa sa JESCA.

      1. thank you so much for the reply and for the clear instructions. palagay ko magiging mas madali na namin marating yung jesca.

and yup, i will txt ms. rose, i copied her number from you previous posts.

        thank you, thank you 😀

        1. hi again pau, naligaw-ligaw din kami because we don’t know the name and address basta LAKEVIEW lang ang alam namin. madali lang sya makita tsaka surprisingly, napaka easy mag commute sa tagaytay!

          have a blast in tagaytay!

          1. Hi malensky 🙂 i just wanna ask, paano magpunta sa jesca kapag galing ka ng picnic grove? :)) ill wait for your reply :). thankyousomuchhh :))))

    1. hi carrie. as far as i know wlang silang site

eto yun mga rooms sa baba:
      2 rooms – good for 2
      1 room – good for 3-4

sa taas naman – 2 more rooms good for 2-3 siguro

you may text Rose @ 0908-9204938 to inquire about the reservation. have fun in tagaytay!

  10. hi mind if i ask…if mangagaling na kami ng imus cavite aguinaldo highway..anung bus sasakyan namin?same pa din ba??ung nasugbu pa din?hope u can help me..i really want to spend my weekend sa tagaytay…but my bf says na dapat alam ko na papunta dun..if not…walang weekend getaway(boring!!)

    1. hi pollie. i’m not really sure kung same yun route nun bus from imus cavite aguinaldo hiway going to nasugbu, better yet, ask mo sa driver/konduktor if dadaan sa tagaytay mismo, so sorry but very limited lang ang alam ko talaga – qc/manila to tagaytay lang.

pero malapit lang naman kayo, so hinde naman mahirap i-travel yun, derechohin nyo lang ang aguinaldo hiway and you’ll get there

    1. hello there, nope kase sa taas aircon rooms so mas mahal sya.

if overnight lang kayo, oks lang kahit walang aircon yun room, malamig naman and you can enjoy the same view naman by going to the porch

    1. hello! yes, pwede magdala ng food sa loob, meron din kitchen (gasul + kawali etc. provided) so you can cook your own food too.

re resto nearby, yes plenty! 1 jeepney ride going to ONE DESTINATION – antonio’s, teriyaki boy, carlos pizza, henlin, dencios, starbucks, pancake house – 5min travel time. from JESCA, labas kayo sa aguinaldo hiway, tawid sa kabilang lane, sakay ng jeep.

kung gs2 nyo ng mas mura, sakay kayo jeep going to tagaytay rotonda – may chowking, mang inasal etc. From JESCA, di na kyo tatawid, sakay lang ng jeep along aguinaldo hiway to Olivarez or Tagaytay Rotonda (malapit lang din).

    1. hi daisy, 4-5 persons yun room na nakuha namin sa baba (1 big bed good for 3, 1 double bed) yun yata yun biggest. i wont suggest adding extra bed kase yun flooring nya is sandblasted. not sure if kasya yun 6 sa taas. yun rate ng aircon rooms, i don’t know eh kase non-aircon yun kinuha namin. for the rates, pls contact Ms. Rose at 0908-920493.

i am in no way affiliated with JESCA. thanks!

  11. how much will be the rent for 2 days only one night.pls reply coz our group of friends are planning 2 have a vacation b4 christmas.thanks.

  12. sir… pwede po malaman mga sasakyan papunta dun.. pag galing po ng makati.. may mga bus po b dun.. tnx… gus2 kc nmin magbakasyon dun.. maraming salamat ulit… from makati to poveda drive, tagaytay city..

    1. Hello there!

Commuting to Tagaytay is very easy.

To Tagaytay from Makati, ride the MRT to Taft terminal station. From there, ride a bus bound to Nasugbu. Ask kuya to drop you off at Poveda House or Lourdes church in Tagaytay (magkatapat lang yun), lampas lang ng konti sa Tagaytay Rotonda. Have fun!

  13. ncontact ko c ms.rose sa cel# nya.. i asked for the room rates, hndi nmn nya cnbi ung 500pesos.. basta ung 3 room sa taas daw ay 3,700 at ung 3 room sa baba ay 3,000..
    bkit bglang ang mhal? 🙁

  14. Hi Malensky,

My hubby and i are actually planning to go to tagaytay later! sana available pa yung 500 para mas marami akong mabili pasalubong heheheh:)

  15. hi malensky tatanong ko lang kung yung nasa picture nyo e yung room sa baba, kasi tinanong ko yung sa may taas yung may balcony ang sabi 12k daw ang mahal pala. pero meron din sila sinasabi na 800 lang dun ba kayo nag stay? and from baba makikita pa din ba yung view? sana makareply ka. im planning to go there kasi dis coming tuesday.

    1. hello there, sorry late reply ha

      wowww 12K yun? I didn’t know.

Dun lang kasi kami sa baba nag stay…unfortunately walang view dun..walls ang makikita mo. To enjoy the view, you have to get to the porch (4th to the last picture)

  16. hi malensky.. just want to ask if the low room rates are still available? and mlpet b xa sa picnic grove? we want to go zipline kc.. tnx..

    1. hi lyka, not sure if they changed their room rates ha, contact Rosa na lang 09089204938 to get the details. I am not affiliated at all with Jesca, just sharing my experience.

Yes, medyo malapit lang sya, madali lang mag commute dun, pwedeng jeep or tricycle lang, and you can ask around if you don’t know the place

  17. Hi. Im actually planning to stay at Poveda House of Prayer this Holy week…mind if I ask? Overlooking din ba ang Poveda?

Thank you. Hope to hear from you soon. God bless.

    1. hi Joana, medyo mas malapit yun Poveda House sa Hi-way, compared dun sa Jesca and ibang houses and hostel, so I’m not sure if overlooking din dun but I hope it is.

    1. ay i dont know if they operate like a motel where you can stay for 3 hrs etc. overnight or longer stay po yata sila…

yes, t here are aircon rooms, i dont know how much since i am not affiliated with them…just sharing my experience, pls contact Rose at 09089204938 for more info. Thanks!

    1. hi katz, this is the only num i have 09089204938 eh

will ask my friend if he can get the new num kung meron, i will post it if there’s any

  18. Hello. I just want to ask if there is another contact number. I couldn’t reach the number po. Thank you. We are a group of teachers (13) who will do an inhouse planning.

  19. yes we’ve been there.. And parang nsa bahay ka lang talaga.. accomodating cla dun, they even check pa if may need pa kmi.. Thanks sa information ive got in here.. I’ve found place like home in tagaytay 🙂

  20. balak po nmin pumasyal ng tagaytay and we’re looking for the cheapest lodging house to stay for 1 nyt,,,is there any available rooms which is in cheapest rates?

  21. thanks sa blog na ito, i will try to soul search in tagaytay at the end of the month.. sana nga may 500 pa na room rate. thanks for this!! =)

    1. I stayed here Sunday night with my partner. I can say the place is modest and if you’re looking a place to spend Quality time with your loved one, Jesca is the place for me. Ate Rose and Kuya is so accomodating and nice. Just a heads up the room for 2 for P500 is now at P700 (maybe I didn’t haggle haha) but its worth it 🙂

  22. hi there ^^
i came across with this site while checking places to stay in tagaytay though we have a house in bacoor, its still good to sleep in other places ^^

im planning to see tagaytay on my own this weekend. this will be my first time to ‘sleep-over tagaytay’ [lagi kasing uwian eh]

Do you think its the best place for female solo traveler?
do you think same price din ung rate nila for solo-ista?

    super thankz ^^

    1. hi ally! yun ibang rooms sa baba -1 queen size bed, good for two. diff rate. yun room kasi namin 4-5 persons.

you’re going solo? woww go go gooo. i think the place is safe naman…malapit sya sa Lourdes church. just dont go home ng super late na kasi yun daan is downhill and super dilim at night. the location is ideal for peeps touring around tagaytay bec very accessible sya…

  23. Hi there. I want to visit tagaytay next month with m girfriend. Gusto nya kasi ng relaxing place. Pano pumunta dito? Maghapon lang kami.. Saka how much mag stay?Sino pwede kontrahin?

    1. Hello there!

Ride San Agustin bus going to Nasugbu in Philtranco Terminal (along Edsa Cubao), it will pass by Tagaytay. Just tell Kuya to drop you off Lourdes Church…tawid kayo sa kabila, may maliit na street dun going downhill…punta kayo dun then look for JESCA.

I don’t know how much is their current rate, you can contact Rose @ 0908-9204938

*any bus going to Nasugbu will pass by Tagaytay.

  24. hello ! me and my bf were planning to go in tagaytay next week … and we don’t know yet where we are going to stay … im so glad that i saw your post and we are interested to that place … i just want to ask if the rate 500 (good for 2) is per head or not?

    1. hi, at that time, we were able to get 500 per room (good for 2) so prang 250 per head lang, not sure now if it’s still the same but based on other comments here, nagmahal na yata, 700 na daw

      enjoy tagaytay!

    1. hello erwinskie, kindly contact Rose @ 0908-9204938 for more info. Sorry ha, during that time, we got the room for a very very cheap price, not sure now kung magkano eh

  25. wow.. kung 700 per room lang mura n nga poh 🙂 anyway .. d kme natuloy next week pa pla hehe … thanks poh 🙂 last question poh panu poh pumunta sa place na yun ? mejo d q puh q pamilyar sa tagaytay … ano poh yung pdeng sbhn sa jeep or tricycle if galing ka olivarez plaza sa tagaytay … tnx poh :)”

    1. by bus, jeep, tricycle from Olivarez – ask kuya to drop you off LOURDES CHURCH, tapos tawid kayo sa kabila nun hiway, hanapin yo yun maliit na street dun going downwards, baba kayo, (makikita nyo din yun Poveda Prayer House) medyo nasa gitnang part sya…enjoy tagaytay!
