Visiting Quiapo on a Friday

I was itching to go out since last week so I decided to take a short trip to Manila last Friday. I end up traversing the long and busy road to Quiapo!!! Too late before I realized Friday is the busiest day of the week for the churchgoers. There were too many people walking and buying and selling it’s almost insane. You don’t need to walk a single step, just stand right there and you’ll get to where you’re heading.

I was planning to buy some DVDs but end up shopping at the Quiapo Market. Everything they sell is very cheap – brocolli for 30P, cauliflower for 20P, Dole banana for 35P/kilo, smoked fish 3 for 100P, fruits like apples and oranges are way cheaper.

A day after my short trip to Quiapo, I had colds. It’s been 5 days now and I’m still suffering from it. It’s shocking because everytime I blow my nose with a tissue, I see tiny little drops of blood (yeah, this is the real nosebleed experience), and it doesn’t help that we’re having a crazy weather these days. At nights, it seems really cold I wish I have a heated blanket to keep me warm, but during afternoons, it’s oftentimes too hot to even go outside.

Haay, this colds is killing me. I woke up this morning with a stuffed nose and headache I don’t even want to go to work. I’m guessing I caught the virus during my short trip there. Now I don’t ever wanna go to Quiapo on a Friday again.

  1. Hi Malen! Take lots of fluids. I found out that Calamansi juice can really help. Get well soon!
