I.AM.ADDICTED.TO.PERIOD.DRAMAS.

My love for History brought me to watching Period Dramas. I watch mostly Chinese, Japanese and Korean. I love the colors, clothes, culture and everything about them.

I’d say my most favorite is Jewel in the Palace, Jumong came in 2nd then Sungkyunkwan Scandal and lastly, Queen Seon Deok.

Last month, I got hooked to Iljimae and finished it within 3 days. The drama is based on the same story of Robin Hood where the lead star acted as a hooligan in the marketplace by day but at night, he was a thief who robbed corrupted government officials to give to the poor. I like all the ninja skills showcased in this drama – all those amazing flying scenes and climbing walls/roofs and walking inside the house without making any sound. The lead star is too cute for words! His specialty is unlocking locks using a tension tool. Pretty amazing if you see how he do it every time he steals. I wonder if he can also unlock a schlage hardware? He then leaves a painting of cherry blossoms in every house he rob. I’m not sure but I’m guessing Iljimae means cherry blossoms.

The whole story is fun to watch. Make sure you watch the first few episodes to understand the whole story, ok. DO NOT SKIP A SINGLE EPISODE! (I got confused at the ending because I didn’t pay attention to the first episode HAHA)

Shoutout to Ressie! Dear, you must watch this if you like Saegeuks too.  Have fun watching!
