I absolutely love Ma Mon Luk! Their mami and siopao tastes like no other. It feels like you’re going back to 1960’s era as soon as you sit down inside. The wooden chairs and tables, old wooden frames, lighting, including the cash registry and receipt (I wonder if they will ever upgrade to POS systems) and pictures hanging on the walls are all vintage. Even the staffs are quite a bit old (but still fast)…and the orders are sometimes shouted in the old Cantonese way. If you’re looking for aunthentic “mamihan”, Ma Mon Luk is the place to be. They have branches in Quezon Ave. and Quiapo. I personally prefer the one in Quezon Ave. Prices are a bit higher than your ordinary mamihan but it’s worth it. Also, don’t forget to bring a hand fan as it gets too hot inside (no aircon, btw).
