I Love The Barrio Life

Just like Reynz, I love the barrio life too. I really do. Napaka laidback. Walang masyadong stress. Wag lang magkaka-typhoon. Have you lived in the barrio? I will tell you what it is to live a barriotic life, and why I soo love it and hate it sometimes. Been there, done that.

On afternoons, we make plans to have a stroll in the forest to enjoy the wonders of nature…

…or pack our lunch and have a great picnic in this very pleasant garden

Where else can you find the joy and tranquility of a morning sunrise? Sa barrio lang.

In the barrio, I can walk along the seashore, sometimes barefooted, enjoying the sound of waves.

I don’t need to go to Boracay to experience the white beach and clear blue waters…we have our own version of the white-sand beach, and we call it Barocay LOL

Our typical gimikan is the beach, sitting on the sand with some cousins and friends, making kwento about boys, yikes hahaha and everything….

while waiting for the sun to set. Classic.

On early mornings, I spend time in the cool waters of my private pool

with my cute kid sistah mao-mao and my father…

and my nagging mother LOL

Now, I’ll tell about the great barrio culture – things that comprises the barriotic life. When I feel really tired and depressed and broken and poor and hopeless, I look back at my life in the barrio. And then suddenly, everything becomes different.

The Tree of Life! Indeed. Kung hinde dahil sa copra, wala ako dito ngayon LOL. Do you know how it’s being processed? Naku. I remember one time, nagbibilad kami ng copra. Ang bigat! Ang ineeeet!

Dun sa barrio, walang channel 2. Bumili ako ng Baron Antenna, baka makasagap ng signal. HAHAHA. Wala talaga!!!

Ang nanay ko bumili ng La Germania, yung apat ang stoves. Ginawang pang display, ayaw gamitin. Mahal ang gasul noh, nakita nyo naman ang ginagawa, nagluluto sa uling. I tell you, nakakangawit magpaypay ng sinaing noh!!!

eto ang dinner, shucks, kamote – may steamed, may fried, you choose. HAHAHAH may kasama pang kuyog and ginataang langka LOL.

Kaloka. Mag cu-curacha, I’m sure madaming pera! This is what I don’t like in the barrio, yung mentality ng mga mayayaman mayayabang. Yung tipong nag nakawin yung lupa, nagbabarilan hahaha at nag uubusan ng lahi LOL joke lang

This is the fun part. If you get to our barrio…make sure you attend the barrio fiesta…sarayaw ang tawag jan, some call it Baylihan, in Tagalog, they call it Parteeey!!! LOL

I miss the barrio. I haven’t been there for 3 years. I’ll be home on summer next year, if you want to experience the barrio culture, come join me and let’s have a parteeeeeeey!!!
