The world has changed dramatically. When I was younger, I can spend a whole day outside playing with the kids around the neighborhood and my parents need not to worry. Years ago, the place where I grew up was a squatter’s area thus my breeding is sometimes of a squatter too. Charing lang. I grew up in a half-urban half-rural society…yah know, may mga bukirin pa noon sa Valenzuela. Gone are those days di ba. Hinde pa naman uso ang subdivision noon noh kaya walang exclusivity among the neighborhood. You know I had a happy and wonderful childhood. When I think about the past, I always go back to that point in my life when everything was simplified.
No Barbie dolls, no play dohs, co Playstations, Nintendos, X-boxes, no brick game, only game and watch, no 150 channels on cable, no DVD’s, no MP3s, no CD’s, no cell phones, no COMPUTERS, no Internet or chat rooms, no blogs…….but I HAD FRIENDS and when I go outside I always find them waiting for me! We climbed trees, got cut, broken bones and teeth, nakipag sabunutan and everything….we rode bikes, walked to a friend’s house, played moro-moro, tumbang preso, bending, syato and piko….kung totoo man ang time machine, these are the things I’d like to go back to. Kase ngayong mayaman na kami, lol, …my ambisyosang engliserang 6 yo baby sister Inday is deprived of these things.
LOL
Happy Mother’s Day to all the mommies out there.
