One of the many things I acquired from blogging is the ability to edit and customize templates using HTML, XHTML, or XML tags. I’m not saying I’m good at it right now, but I am getting there. There are many technical jargons that I don’t know yet but I believe they can be learned. I am learning little by little through reading self-help websites, checking out on forums and searching related articles on the web. Although there are many computer classes and short courses offered at universities, I prefer teaching myself through online sites since I don’t have many free hours available getting to school. I find it more convenient plus, I don’t even have to shell out money to master it.
If you’re newbie to web designing, here are some simple tips on how to make your personal site or business site look more professional:
- Select colors that’s pleasing to the eyes. Follow color schemes and stick to it.
- If you don’t know web designing yet, use pre-set designs or free templates first.
- Don’t put too much clutter and special effects
- Create external links
- Always put a Search box
- Concentrate on the content of your website. It is important that your website looks nice but more than that, always remember that the CONTENT IS KING.
