The latest chica is this — some ‘TERI HATCHER’ of Desperate Housewives (show ba yun?) made a racist remark against Philippine doctors on their premiere episode. Eto ang foint ko:

Nagkamali po yung writer nun show na yun. Eto daw po kase dapat yung script na sasabihin ni Teri, in-email sa ‘kin.

“Okay, before we go any further, can I check those diplomas? Coz I would just like to make sure they are not from RECTO, Philippines”

Eto namang si Teri, kesyo shu-shunga-shunga, nakalimutan yung script.

Nyahaha.

Seriously, it’s a desperate attempt to bring the Filipino people down, esp. our Medical Professionals. Hinde ko ma-gets ang gusto nyang i-point out to think na among the various nationalities serving American hospitals, Filipino Nurses (and Doctors turned Nurses) are the favorite. Kung competency lang ang pagbabasehan, well, I’d say we’re one of the best kung hinde, edi andami nang amerkano ang natsugi.

On the other hand, I guess parang reality check ito. Like ang mga certified Gengineers dito sa Pinas, when they get to work in the US, they sometimes fail to find a job related to their studies and ang bagsak — driver, bartender, salesman etc. Whatta? Is it because the whole Phil Educ System has deteriorated alarmingly? But that’s another story.

Bottom line is..(this is so obvious) I don’t know why I need to say this, but I will, STEREOTYPES are all over!!!!

By the way, I never watch that show. It’s sooo dysfunctional and yeah, trashy.
